Breath as the foundation of our existence

Breath is one of the few experiences we truly share as human beingsIt does not belong to usWe do not own itIt moves through us

Before identity, before any practice, we exist because we breatheWhen breath is observed without immediately turning it into a technique, it becomes clear that it is more than a biological functionIt is a universal movement

Inhalation and exhalationExpansion and contraction

The same rhythm present in natural cyclesThe waxing and waning moonDay turning into night and back againThe continuous movement of the cosmos

Breath is the most direct expression of this rhythm

In recent years, breath has become central in many wellness practicesOften in the form of performance and intensity

Intensive breathworkExtreme techniquesExperiences designed for immediate impact

Many of these practices primarily stimulate the nervous systemThey activate adrenalineThey create peaksWhich is why they feel powerful

The issue is not intensity itselfBut when intensity becomes the only pathway

A body conditioned to peaks easily falls into cycles of overstimulation and collapseFrom a nervous system perspective, this is not integrationIt is repeated stimulation

My relationship with breath began long before these trends

Through Hatha Yoga, where breath supports rather than pushesThrough tantric self-healing, where breath became a tool of listeningThrough Pranayama, which revealed precision and intelligenceAnd finally through Qi Gong, the breathing of sounds

There I encountered a form of breathing that regulates instead of overwhelms

When breath is not forcedWhen it is not used to reach somewhere

The body reorganizes itself

Less is more

Less stimulation

More integration
