The one who returns with the medicine

"The healer suffers first then returns with the medicine"

There is something deeply true about this sentence Not because suffering automatically makes someone a good healer but because some people choose to transform their pain instead of passing it on to others

If you had to trust a map would you rather it was drawn by someone who has actually walked the path or by someone who has only studied it in books

Technique matters Knowledge matters But there is a part of this work that no course can ever teach It is born when you walk through pain without allowing it to define who you are

People who have experienced loss rejection fear failure or deep transformation often develop something impossible to imitate Presence They do not only hear your words they recognize your silence

Carl Gustav Jung described the archetype of the Wounded Healer It is not the wound that makes you a healer It is the way you choose to move through it

An unhealed wound can make us want to save others in order to save ourselves It can lead us to project our pain or constantly seek validation A wound that has been embraced understood and transformed becomes compassion clarity strength and humanity

That is why some people make us feel safe the moment we meet them Not because they have lived a perfect life but because they have learned how to find the light even in their darkest moments

For many years I believed my wounds were something to hide Today I realize they were the very reason I found the work I do I have lived through loss change relationships that taught me more than I ever wanted and moments when I had to rebuild myself piece by piece

I do not believe I have arrived because I believe healing is a lifelong journey I still study question myself and continue doing my own inner work and I probably always will

It is this journey that allows me to sit in front of another person without judgment without trying to fix them but simply holding space while they reconnect with their own inner resources

I do not believe my role is to heal anyone I believe my role is to create a space where people feel seen accepted and reminded that they already carry far more within themselves than they realize

Perhaps this is the truest medicine Not perfection but a heart that has been broken healed and has chosen to remain open

Because a wound does not disqualify a healer

When transformed with awareness it can become one of their greatest gifts
