One day outside ordinary time
In 2020, I found myself unexpectedly stuck in Bern because of the pandemic
The city was almost empty
The streets of the old town were unusually quiet
And walking through them without the usual rhythm of people,
traffic and everyday life changed the way I saw the city
The more I walked,
the more Bern stopped feeling like a city
I was simply living in
It became something I could listen to
Something I could read
Something I could feel
And little by little, I fell in love with it
THE CITY THAT TAUGHT ME TO NOTICE
Bern is famous for time
At the heart of the old town stands the Zytglogge,
its astronomical clock marking hours, movements and cycles
But exisist also another kind of time
Not the time measured by a clock
The time of presence
The moment when you slow down enough
to notice what has always been there
The ancient Greeks called this Kairos
The right moment
The meaningful moment
The moment that cannot be measured,
only experienced
That is where this experience begins
WHY KAIROS EXISTS?
Kairos Experience grew from those walks
From the feeling of discovering a city underneath the city
From noticing how differently a place
can speak when we stop rushing through it
From understanding that sometimes
we do not need to go somewhere far away
to experiencesomething extraordinary
Sometimes we simply need to become present enough
to see what is already around us
I wanted to create a day
where someone could experience Bern in that same way
Slowly
Intuitively
Without trying to collect sights or complete a route
A day where the city itself becomes part of the experience
ONE DAY IN BERN
Kairos begins around a table
With a light conscious brunch,
conversation and a simple intention for the day
Nothing complicated
Nothing to perform
Just a moment to arrive
From there, we step into Bern
We walk through the old town without following a traditional guided route
Some places are part of the journey because of their symbols
Some because of their history
Some because of the way the space feels
And some may appear simply because that is where the day takes us
We allow the city to become a mirror for what we are carrying with us
THIS IS NOT A CITY TOUR
I am not interested in showing you
how many things you can see in Bern in one day
Kairos is the opposite
It is about seeing less
But noticing more
There is no rigid itinerary
No checklist
No pressure to understand every symbol or find a message in everything
We walk
We observe
We talk
We allow silence
And we follow what feels meaningful in that particular moment
Every Kairos Experience can be different
because every person, every day and every encounter with the city is different
FROM THE CITY TO THE BODY
After walking through Bern, we come to marilü'studio
The experience moves from the outside world into the body
We slow down again
Tea
Reflection
A little space to integrate what appeared during the day
Then the final part begins
A guided meditation
Tibetan singing bowls
Gong
Sound
Vibration
Silence
The intention is not to add more information
It is to allow the body to receive what the mind may already have noticed
CHRONOS & KAIROS
There is the time we measure
And there is the time we experience
Chronos is the clock
The appointment
The schedule
The next thing we need to do
Kairos is the moment when we are fully there
When something catches our attention
When a conversation arrives at exactly the right time
When we see something familiar differently
When the world becomes quiet enough for us to notice ourselves inside it
Bern taught me this
And Kairos Experience is my way of sharing it
